Colocated GEO Committee meeting

Melbourne, Australia, 14-18 September 2009

One day of joint meeting for all GEO committees and subsequent colocated individual committee meetings. The meeting location was chosen to give the regional communities a better chance to get involved. The User Interface Committee meeting focussed on discussing and working on the items on its activity plan, preparing the upcoming GEO plenary, and explore strategic ideas for the next ministerial meeting.

GMES is considered the European contribution to GEO, but the tangible links betwenn GMES and GEO are not yet clear. GNU has, indeed, now set up an operational and ongoing exchange across the two programmes.

9th GEO User Interface Committee Meeting

Co-location meeting of three Committees, the UIC, the Capacity Building Committee and the Architecture and Data Committee, focussing on building partnerships, continuing the progress the work on essential tasks, and increasing UIC participation in the implementation of the WorkPlan tasks. The meeting included a GNU presentation on GEOSS Best Practices WIKI utilisation.

Second Meeting of the ISOWG

Workshop organised by the ETC LUSI encompassing representatives of Scandinavian and Baltic countries and from the GMES community, to foster  discussions regarding mapping activities and harmonisation across the different countries and up to the European level.
